June 20, 2018 The Board of Trustees of the Society for Ethnographic Theory unequivocally condemn all bullying, fraudulent and abusive behaviour and express sympathy for anyone who has been hurt by such behaviour. We are currently reviewing all the documentation we received during the weekend from the previous Interim Board about the subjects of the allegations that have been posted on social media. To facilitate this process, the Editor-in-Chief has recused himself until the inquiry is completed, an offer we have accepted. We have also asked for all current staff to report any grievance in confidence and we expect to hear from them. We are carefully analysing the situation and will come to a decision soon. We cannot work through all of these serious issues at the same pace as the social media.
